In May 2015 the FIDUCIA-project and the Network of Excellence for the Law of Civil Security in Europe (KORSE) established a new cooperation.

KORSE is being funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research within its Research Programme for Civil Security. The core project-partners are the Centre for Security and Society at the University of Freiburg, the German Police Academy in Muenster, the Bucerius Law School in Hamburg and the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society in Berlin. Within the KORSE-project, junior researchers address theoretical and practical challenges of civil security in a united Europe. These individual KORSE-projects include research on Europe-wide issues of criminal law and criminal procedural law such as cybercrime, organized crime and mutual recognition.

FIDUCIA will offer its expertise on legal matters and seek whether a “trust-based approach” can improve the quality of civil security laws across Europe.
