FIDUCIA publishes Policy Brief on Crime Trends in Europe

Research under WP2 “State-of-the-Art Crime Trends” focused on providing a synthesis of what can be said with confidence about crime trends in Europe, drawing the policy implications on this synthesis, and resulted in a European Policy Brief on crime trends, a paper on policy-relevance of existing crime data.
The paper shows that the current use of the existing crime data within policy-making in criminal matters at the EU level is very limited, lists the reasons why existing crime data have such limited policy relevance and provides recommendations for further improvement.
Research was conducted by Ana Pérez Cepeda and Demelsa Benito Sánchez.
